Brainscape distills any subject down into bite-sized facts (neatly organized into decks and classes), which are posed as question-and-answer pairs, compelling you to actively recall information from scratch. You then rate how well you know each concept on a scale of 1 to 5, and Brainscape determines the perfect time interval at which to repeat that flashcard again.

Ratings and reviews

The last time I took American history was high school. After getting my Associates and taking a gap year, I've only now decided to major in history. Being able to review what I learned in U.S. History 101 and 102 three years ago is a literal godsend! The information is condensed and presented in a repetitive format that makes it easier to remember- and it's fun. If you want to review/study for lower level college classes, this is it! (It does not seem to have higher level history classes.)

Beautifully organized app. I use it to make my own flashcards and the ranking system has been my greatest asset in remembering what I need to. The format is super easy to navigate, there's different options for the complexity of the flashcards you're creating, and there's tons of online information banks to choose from that you don't have to make yourself. No ads.

This has been so valuable for me for a few exams now. Highly highly recommended! I only use free version which means you can't use pictures. Giving 4 stars instead of five because the cost of paid subscription is way too high compared to other products where you get a lot more for your money. It's just too much for what you get. Would like a much lower priced tier where you can still use pictures
