Collabora Office is a text editor, spreadsheet and presentation program based on LibreOffice, the world's most popular Open Source office suite - and now it's on Android, enhancing your possibilities to work on mobile and for collaboration.

This app is in active development, feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

About the app:

Collabora Office for Android uses the same engine as LibreOffice for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This, combined with a new front-end based on Collabora Online, reads and saves documents similarly to LibreOffice desktop.

Collabora Engineers Tor Lillqvist, Tomaž Vajngerl, Michael Meeks, Miklos Vajna, Jan Holešovský, Mert Tümer and Rashesh Padia have been developing Android support since 2012, with the help of Google Summer of Code students Andrzej Hunt, Iain Billet and Kaishu Sahu.

As a viewer, this is a neat option, definitely many steps up from earlier iterations of LibreOffice mobile and the tomtasche viewer. Fit/finish still have room to improve. Slides are shown w/o notes. ODG files opened but not editable. Working w/ text docs is great, including adding/editing images/tables. No way to change font family, curiously. Commenting works but panning necessary is annoying. Spreadsheet yet to to test. Very friendly quick developer feedback. [Review edited AFTER dev comment]

I really like the app. A couple of things are not quite as working with a PC but that is to be expected! Is perfect to read and write small things in to documents. For bigger changes I would probably need a real keyboard and mouse. But I really recommend the app as it is clean and dose what is supposed to.

This app's best feature is that when your tablet suddenly shuts down, your work is automatically saved. Annoyingly, you can't use Alt F,I, V, etc and there's no Save As, which would be useful, but considering the small amount of memory required, this is a great app. What I would like to see changed are the copy and paste. When I paste in a Collabora document, it pastes the content twice (!) and when you paste copied material to another app, it's unformatted and runs off edge of the screen.
