About this app

With a single swipe in the app, you can check in and travel by bus, train, metro, and light rail throughout the country, except Bornholm.

You are one of the first to travel with Rejsekort as an app. In the near future, the app will be updated with more features and made available to more users.

Right now, you can use the app if you travel as an adult without discount. This is because special discounts, e.g. pensioner discounts, are not available yet. You also need MobilePay, as this is the only way you can pay for your trips in this version of the app.

HOW IT WORKS
With a single swipe in the app, you can travel by bus, train, metro, and light rail. The app automatically detects if you change means of transport along the way, so you don't have to check in again. If you turn on 'Smart check out' in the app settings, the app will remind you to check out.

Once you arrived at your final destination and are standing at the station, you can end your journey in the app with one swipe. When you have checked out, you can see your route and the price of your journey under the menu item History. You will be billed for your journeys once a day.

To issue a valid ticket, calculate your route and its price correctly, the app makes a match between the GPS in your phone, the stations or stops you drive past on your journey and timetables from Rejseplanen. Therefore, you must give the app access to your location - always.

Ratings and reviews

Absolutely useless until they sort out the "always tracking location" and "Battery Saver Off" nonsense. Other cities have solved this problem - you're reinventing the bike and doing it in a terribly inefficient way. Small towns in Eastern Europe (check app Žiogas) have a much more clever, secure, much less cumbersome system. In London it's just a contactless bank card! This is done so professionally & so frustratingly at the same time. Fix those two problems before it's possible to use this app.

Initially faced some issues with adding the payment method. After using it for a few weeks: it works fine and is more convenient than DSB app as it doesn't require repeated check ins on transfers. On Android the location permission isn't invasive as on iOS. Obviously the app needs to add more traveler types, and payment methods. Also, while DSB app is less convenient, they give points rewards on any trains, while no rewards are given on Rejsekort for using it in Sjælland (only in Fyn/Jylland) :(

List of defects: - Location fails or is slow in metro stations. - MobilPay makes tourists unable to use this app. - Checkin options are limited making it useless for families. - Always on location is unnecessary, if one kills background service the app still correctly calculates the route. However batteries and human rights of privacy is negatively affected. Denmark, please stop trying to re-invent everything. Just use the London NFC card solution, as everyone else have requested.
