I have been involved with GPSmyCity as both an author and a user. When traveling, I like to read about the destination beforehand, but seeing things on the ground and having something pique my interest always leads to a rabbithole of articles. GPSmyCity packs that into its app, using local experts and travelers to contribute their voice. Great concept, app works well (it has crashed on me a few times, hence the 4 stars) and an innovative way to explore for less than the price of a coffee.

Could be much better. I used this app for the first time for the purpose of aiding me in sightseeing Madrid during a short weeks visit there. I thought £5 was a small price to pay to try it out. I was expecting it would have some of the best walking routes around Madrid picking out more information on the buildings/amenities on the tour. whilst it did aim to do this, i found the routes could have been more thought out and missed so much, after I discovered more of Madrid.

Even the not paid option is great! There is a variety of options for exploring different cities. I recently looked up my city (Quito, Ecuador) and it was overwhelmingly heartwarming how detailed and well-thought the articles and walking tours are comprised. In a few paragraphs, (Article: Top things you must see and do in Quito, Ecuador) J+M sumed up the essence of the quiteño experience (I honestly don't know if I could have done it better).
