The Simple Scanner is a PDF document scanner application that turns your phone into a portable scanner. you can scan documents, photos, receipts, reports, or just about anything. The scan will be saved to the device in image or PDF format. Name and organize your scan to a folder, or share it in the following ways:

For users above Android 11, files are stored in a private directory and cannot be changed. This is determined by Google's latest storage policy. For mobile phones below Android 11, the external storage option can still be selected.

Ratings and reviews

Great app, very easy to use and send PDF files to email etc, BUT... Word of warning (& why I've removed 2 stars) it will happily let you scan several documents for free then WITH NO WARNING) the entire app will lock down, you can't scan any documents or access any previously scanned documents and you HAVE TO PAY. It's not the paying that I object to as it's exactly what I need and I now have the paid version, it's the not having any warning or the option to still access previous scans.

UPDATE: They asked me to email at the address in their reply. I did about a month ago, no answer. Can't leave a lower rating unfortunately. Purchased the premium version a few years back, now they've changed to a monthly subscription model and I've lost my purchase. I would have never bought to begin with if I had known they'd rip me off later on. App is plagued with ads.

Export options cover all bases—PDF, JPG, even cloud uploads. The free version serves most needs, though watermarks and ads nudge you toward premium. Interface is dated but functional. Perfect for quick receipts, contracts, and notes on the go.
