This is the official companion app for Star Adventurer mini (SAM) and Star Adventurer 2i camera mount manufactured by Sky-Watcher.

Use this app to program the camera mount for astrophotography and time-lapse photography. It can also help a Sky-watcher equatorial mount user to do polar alignment with the polar scope.

Used to work fine on older phone. Won't even connect to WiFi on android 12 Xperia 1, although app does open, can't use it. Appears to work fine on ios, but don't really want to bring a second phone/tablet along to simply get it to run. I have had the mini a few years now, so I suppose this is a lesson. Hardware that cannot be used without an app is likely to become a paperweight unless the app is continually updated and reviewed.

At first the app dosent work, it's just crashes. After reading reviews you need to go on the Sky Watcher website, find software and Firmware updates and click on SynScan App and find the latest update and click download. At first it won't download (at least for my security settings) you need to authorize the download. Once it downloads the app will work right away.

Zero stars. Having to go to their website to download an untrusted APK in 2021 is ludicrous and shows nothing but disrespect for customers. Furthermore, until you select the "keep connected" in the Android pop-up warning that the tracker's wifi has no internet, you won't be able to connect; instructions don't mention it anywhere and it wasted me an hour.
