About this app

Watchdog is a free mobile application that aggregates relevant news, alerts and warning messages to the public. The system is updated by the collaborative efforts of a group of individuals and organizations that are working to establish the credibility of information by sorting them out as either facts or rumors.

The platform has been designed to ensure the safety of the people by relying on safe and accurate information. The primary release of the mobile application focuses on curating information, whereas the later updates include advanced security features such as geo-locating your friends and family and ensuring their safety during times of crisis and panic.

The application is a combination of a news verification log and an emergency response system that will help cities coordinate while staying safe and secure during times of uncertainty.

App is completely dead and has not been updated in nearly 3 years. Was a really promising premise and while it was active it was an incredibly useful app. But now all it's doing is taking up space on my phone. Such a shame that it wasn't continued and improved on and was instead abandoned. Will be finally uninstalling it now after waiting for so long with hopes that it would return.

Great that such a product is available when the entire country is suffering from an abundance of fake news. Few updates to the app are needed I believe (pull down to refresh + certain news under the 'fake' section is a bit unclear which part is fake) but understandable since this is a quick release. Looking forward to see how this app progresses. Thanks for the work Team Watchdog!

It would be great if search functionality could be added since if you miss a news item, but want to verify it after hearing it elsewhere it could be difficult to do so without a search function.
