Been using this app for probably a decade, and the site before that. It's been a huge help. But the latest update has filled it with intrusive ads that change the look/placement of the "exit ad" button, or have multiple "exit ad"-looking options, with the core idea of tricking you into pressing on the ad while trying to leave. Yes, it increases ads' click-through rate, but it also breeds resentment among users. There are too many alternatives in 2026 to bother with this sort of dishonesty.

I have no problem with apps that have ad banners, but the developers decided to include fullscreen ads in this latest version, which I find intrusive. Yes, money needs to be made, but I'm not a fan of these types of ads.

I was a long time user. I always felt the unobtrusive banner advertisements were a fair way to finance the app. But full screen ads you can only get out of by closing the app? no way, i just uninstalled.

Word lists for Westermann textbooks (Camden Town 5-8, Englisch für Gymnasien) available in the vocab trainer.
