The Kingdom of Baron sent their elite airship fleet, the Red Wings, to attack the surrounding countries. Distressed by his mission, Cecil, a dark knight and captain of the Red Wings, decides to fight against the tyrannical Baron with his trusted friend and his paramour at his side. In his search for the crystals, Cecil must travel over land, under the ground, to the Land of Summons, and even to the moon. Ratings and reviews

This game is very special to me as it's my favorite Final Fantasy of all the ones I've played. So, why the 3 stars instead of 5? Because Square is both too old & young at the same time, forcing touch controls only with zero controller support. Just give us that option, Square! You wouldn't do it for the old versions on here, so why can't you do so here at least?! Edit: 1 star now. It's been 2 years. Just implement controller support, you empty-headed cheapskates. Edit 2: Controller at long last.

This is the one that I played the most growing up. This was really the only one I knew. Growin up in Canada, we only had 1, 4 and 6, and I never had the opportunity to play 6. I owned 1, but I was really young when we got it and I wasn't interested in the slow pace of the game. 4 really changed that and it is the most nostalgic for me. This Pixel Remaster is perfect at recapturing the magic I felt playing through this for the first time!!!!

I have played the SNES, ROM, and the 3-D remake. I am not so much a fan of this game when compared to FF6. The Pixel Remaster does not have the extra content in the 3-D version or any new content. I did enjoy playing this game and if you like Nobuo's music or Yoshitaka's art, then playing FF 4/5/6 is a must. Is it worth it? I think people today could just as much enjoy this game and something more recent. The story and characters have held up well over the years.

What's new

*Assistance features have been added to the config. menu. These new features open up a wide variety of gameplay possibilities. They offer options such as applying a x0 to x4 modifier to the amount of EXP or gil obtained or turning enemy encounters off.
*Support for game pads. It is now possible to play using a dedicated gamepad UI by connecting a gamepad to your device.
