Reverse: 1999 is a 20th Century Time-Travel Strategic RPG developed by Bluepoch.

On the last day of 1999, the "Storm" fell upon the world. You witnessed an era reversed beneath the rising raindrops. Defying all reasons, what unfolds in front of you is the world of an era long past.

As the Timekeeper, observer of eras, you are free to travel through these eras after each "Storm." With the aid of Sonetto, a powerful Arcanist and ally from the Foundation, your mission is to travel through eras to where the "Storm" is most active, find other Arcanists who can sense the coming "Storm," and save them from being "sifted out" of the timeline.

Ratings and reviews

Love the gameplay, and the ui graphics are easily my favourite thing. Music is good and the ability to change main screen track is a great plus. While ascending units can get a bit tedious at the beginning, it's not and impossible hurdle to get over. The story is interesting, and has a great atmosphere. I love the inclusion of different languages and accents in both ENG and JP voice acting, and there have been times when I was moved to tears by the delivery. (post-launch review edited after 1y)

Great game, fun combat, nice artwork, and a good variety of play modes to keep things interesting. The only thing holding it back from 5 stars is a severe lack of resources for summoning and character building. Edit: they added another system to upgrade characters that requires even more resources when they're already scarce, minus another star for that

Great intriguing story but painful progression. Gameplay is fun enough, but the scaling gets steep to the point that they added a low difficulty "Breezy Mode" to still experience the story. Raising characters is painfully depressing. Pull for four good 5/6* units and only level them up or you feel stupid for wasting resources, it takes me a whole day to give ONE UNIT 5 levels, there is no room to experiment with units at all. I'll play the game on Breezy for the story,but ignore the rest.
