About this app

Arrange your library matters whenever you want with the Library Wise app (free)! The app can be used by members of public libraries in the Netherlands.

You can find the participating libraries at https://www.wise-nl.oclc.org/app/. Or start the app and search for the library where you are a member in the overview of libraries. Can't find your library? Or do you have questions or comments about the app? Please contact your library.

In the Library Wise app you can use the facilities (catalogue, My Menu) that you also have via your library's website, including:

+ What do I have at home? At a glance you can see what materials you have at home and when you need to return them. Immediate renewal is possible: both your own copies and those of family members. Please set up the authorization(s) for renewal first!

+ Relationships (Renewal authorizations): Set here whether you want to be able to renew for your children, for example. The other way around is also possible: you can authorize someone to renew for you.

+ Search in the catalog: All search options from the regular (web) catalog are available. You can search in sub-catalogues (youth, e-books, etc.) by title, author, subject, words, series, etc. If desired, you can place reservations and/or update your wish list.

+ Your library always suits you! With the app you always have your library card at hand and you can use it in the library.

+ Manage data: you can manage your data yourself (login details, email address, newsletter yes/no) but also the way in which you want to receive messages from the library (via email, inbox/push, post).

+ Inbox and push messages keep you informed of the latest status. Collect reservations? Hand in materials? The library will let you know. Make sure you are and remain logged in.

+ Overviews: Previously borrowed titles, My reservations, My Wishlist. You can update the last two yourself via the app.

+ Acquisitions: View the recent acquisitions of your library, divided by genre.

Permissions that the Library Wise app asks for:

+ If desired, you can receive push messages, for example about a reservation that is ready for you. Your account information will NOT be shared.

Ratings and reviews

Works ok but needed to reinstall after update. As almost everyone reports, the app got unusable after an update: black screen after startup, meant that you could not use the app at all. SOLUTION: Uninstalled, and installed again. Then it worked fine again

Bring back the compact view of currently checked-out books please. You can Print them in compact format (who uses printers for this stuff???) but can't show it on your screen in a useful format?

Samen remarks as the other ones, since the update after logging in I get a black page so I cannot use the app anymore. It still doesn't work after closing the app and logging in again
