About this app

The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors. You can check your glucose level by scanning the sensor with your phone. Now FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensor users can get automatic glucose readings in the FreeStyle LibreLink app, updated every minute, and also receive alarms when glucose is low or high. [1][2]

You can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app to:

* view the latest glucose readings, trend arrow and glucose history
* receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 system sensors [2]
* view reports, such as time within target range and daily patterns
* share your data with your doctor and family, with your permission [3]

COMPATIBILITY WITH SMARTPHONES

USE THE APP AND THE READER WITH THE SAME SENSOR
Alarms can only be sent on either the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone (not both). To receive alarms on your phone, you need to start the sensor with the app. To receive alarms on the FreeStyle Libre 2 reader, you must start the sensor with the reader. As soon as the sensor is started with the reader, you can also read the sensor with the phone.

Remember that the app and the reader do not share data with each other. If you want complete information on a device, you need to scan the sensor with the device every 8 hours. If not, the reports will not include all of your data. You can upload and view data from all your devices on LibreView.com.

FreeStyle LibreLink is intended for measuring glucose levels in people with diabetes when used with a sensor. [1] If you use the FreeStyle LibreLink app, you must also have access to a blood glucose monitoring system, as this is not included with the app.

Been using FreeStyle LibreLink 2 for several years. In the beginning it started good with no issue and it was a positive experience. I setup the phone settings with the desired permissions and the app with the desired alarms, without a problem. Then on my old phone HTC Android 10 I started getting alarms about signal loss. I reported the issue to the vendor, only getting a undermining response from them. I thought it might be the phone and got a brand new Motorola using Android 14. Same issue.

Just an edit: again, really amazingly developed app and thank you for providing us diabetics with a way to continuously monitor our sugar levels. As I pointed out, I have some feedback on the alarm. 1) the alarm doesn't need to warn me every time I switch off sound/vibration that I cannot receive alarms. 2) the alarm sound could be a 'normal' notification sound only once, so that e.g. during meetings I can leave it on. Otherwise, everybody thinks the fire alarm goes off.

I Just changed phone, from a Huawei Mate 20 Pro to a Oneplus 8 Pro. I tought the NFC scan/reading would maybe improve, but it got way worse. It startet good, it seemed to read the sensor faster and "better" but then it stops. I suddenly cant scan, it wont read the sensor, and this happens on all the sensors i until now have used. I have to kill the app, clear mem, restart nfc for it to function again. But often i also have to restart phone.
