Couchsurfing claims it's something bigger than money yet the "donation" isn't an option but requirement What a disappointment. I've been a member since 2013. I've noticed how slowly the developers started to monetize this by limiting the number of messages a free account user could send. Now, in these hard times for so many people the "donation" is not an option, but a demand. Once again, I'm incredibly disappointed

I used this app for years. It was cool as it was free. It was OK that emails and notifications could be lost, chat is old as dinosaurs, design is from 2005. But now they decided to make some money so we have the same app that looks like a students diploma work, but it requires a subscription. I can't even cancel it because of the bugs in the app. Hilarious. Hosts leaved the app because it's stupid to pay for sharing your own flat and it's became useless.

They made the app non-free (subscription) without a clear notice even for verified accounts (and this verification already costs like a year of subscription). To get to the support service you also need to pay for subscription, otherwise you just don't have any usable access to the app. The support service, in turn, is unhelpful at returning the money. Feels like they are using their customers for money.
