This is a fantastic app for natural exposure to a language, with a good selection of recordings of native speakers at different difficulty levels. It is also quite buggy even many years after its release. Parsing of sentances is inexact so bits get cut off if you try to play just one sentence, the app keeps offering me "discounts" despite already being on a premium account. Songs are listed in my target language (Russian) but any attempt to download them fails. Still a unique & worthwhile app.

I trialed Beelingua, as the concept of learning through immersion is excellent. The material was fairly good. An excellent feature compared to Langster is that material is automatically downloaded, so would be great for planes. However, ultimately, I was disappointed by the poor user-experience. While Langster instantly shows vocab definitions upon clicking on the word, Beelingua has a complicated system which requires at least 3 seconds and two complicated clicks. Disappointing really.

I wanted to try out the free version before paying for the rest of the app. However, it's sometimes unclear which features are free and which aren't. It won't even define vocab words for you for free! Ugh. Also, I tried to play the vocabulary "mini game" after reading a story, but it was completely broken and didn't even list the vocab words or anything. And judging by other reviews, I don't think it's worth paying for...
