This app will help you to understand how the Proportional - Derivative - Integral (PID) controller is used to keep drones stable in flight.

The app works in conjunction with the Broadcom Wiced Sense Smart Sensor Tag, which allows the user to control the on screen drone remotely.

The WICED tag can easily be attached to any type of garment, hat, cap, glove etc. enabling the control of the drone thru movement of the body.

In addition the user can configure (tune) how the drone behaves by adjusting the three PID settings. This exercise provides a kinesthetic and fun experience in PID tuning.

This app provides a fun and exciting introduction into the subject of microelectromechanical systems MEMS particularly if tutor led.

NB: The PID settings are not designed to accurately replicate real life tuning, but to provide an appreciation of how the PID algorithm in conjunction with MEMS technology enables autonomous flight.
