Narrative is also great for writing short stories, student essays, or poetry.

Designed for Android, PC, iPhone, iPad, Mac, or any web-browser. Your progress is saved on your device, and also to the cloud as you type. Narrative allows you to access your novel wherever you are, whatever device you have with you.

The standalone apps for PC and MacOS desktops are fully-featured, and sync with your Android phone and/or tablet, as well as iPhone and iPad.

All apps, (inc. the browser app), work both online and offline. When you come back online, the sync will save your work up to the cloud. No need to swap files between devices anymore. Live-sync sends your words to all your devices in real-time.

If you are already a writer, you can import your work-in-progress in docx, txt, or ePub formats.

The versions feature saves regular automated snapshots. This saves you from the nightmare of losing work accidentally.

Detailed stats help you track your progress, and a proofreader checks your grammar, spelling, and style in any of 12 languages.

An integrated proofreader checks grammar, spelling, and style issues, in several languages and dialects. The proofreader checks as you type, and you can toggle the display of hints/suggestions on or off, at the touch of a button.

How do you like to write? Is it curled up on the sofa with your iPad, or at a proper desk on a PC or Mac? Some people even work on their novel using their Android or Apple mobile phone.

Ratings and reviews

This app is basically unusable. On my S23 Ultra, it pretends that I am not clicking on letters on the onscreen keyboard. On my Tab S9, it doubles every letter typed. There are some serious server problems plaguing the user end and I would expect better at $45/year. Save your money.

This app is really nice, the best part of it is when your writings don't delete even when you go off the app to another app or maybe the next day

Terrible and not free. Would not recommend.
