DRYRivERS is a citizen science application aiming to enable people to collect information about drying events.
DRYRivERS was developed by DRYvER (https://www.dryver.eu/), which is a Horizon 2020 project, that aims to collect, analyse, and model data from drying river networks from all around the World.
By using DRYRivERS, every smartphone user who enjoys nature and the outdoors can contribute to the mapping of drying rivers, and will help to improve scientific predictions of the future impacts of climate change in these ecosystems.
The app is very easy to use, all you need to do is add (1) the location of the river site; (2) the in-channel conditions i.e., whether the channel contains flowing water, disconnected standing pools, or is dry; (3) a photo of the site.
All the observations made by citizens with the DRYRivERS app will be openly accessible and visualized on DRYvER website (https://www.dryver.eu/app).
