Not fluent? No problem – English subtitles are available. So, whether you grew up with Irish or just fancy dipping your toe in, you’re sorted. Irish language subtitle options are available on children’s content and on Ros na Rún.

Ratings and reviews

Frustrating. Searches don't show all results. For example, searching for Ros na Rún season 22 or 23 only shows the second half of the season. Also buggy. If you pause and the screen shuts down, the app crashes and you have to search again for the show you were watching. I love the closed captioning, but the app overall needs some work.

Anyone with issues of rights restrictions, or basketball showing instead of GAA Beo: Uninstal the app, restart your device. Make sure location is set to Ireland on your device. Instal app again and click yes when it asks if you want to allow location. Won't work for some programmes if location is outside Ireland. This is a great app.

Really a great app, I only wish Irish subtitles were provided for more programs. What's more, even when a program description says that subtitles are available, the CC button is often missing, so it's not possible to switch them on.
