About this app

I2P protects your communication from dragnet surveillance and monitoring by third parties such as ISPs. This is similar to proxy apps like Tor.

But I2P is not a proxy - it is an ecosystem.

I2P is a separate anonymizing network inside the Internet. It offers a simple layer that identity-sensitive applications can use to securely communicate. All data is wrapped with several layers of encryption, and the network is both distributed and dynamic, with no trusted parties.

I2P is for users!

• Browse I2P eepsites: The browser configuration guide inside the I2P app will help you to start browsing websites inside I2P.

• Encrypt your emails: Bote is a high-latency encrypted email system that runs inside I2P. Get Bote: http://goo.gl/inrAHI

I2P is for developers!

• Show your users that you care about their privacy: Websites can easily be made accessible inside I2P. For more information, see the I2PTunnel documentation: https://geti2p.net/en/docs/api/i2ptunnel

• Protect your clients: Whether you are a large business or a single Android app developer, I2P can help you to secure your communications. For help with using I2P in your application, see the Application Development Guide: https://geti2p.net/en/get-involved/develop/applications

Works (just) configured Firefox proxy to localhost:4444. Accessed websites via the proxy. Very, very slow. Expectedly I suppose, due to the complexity of the routing. Does not start on boot, does not continue to run in background. Next to useless. Stick to Tor browser if I were you. Edit:- I tried the 'Developer Contact' option. Even that bounced.

I have lightening browser set with i2p but it keeps telling me i2p keeps stopping. Before the set up I had orbot set and it didn't stop at all. At this point I have no idea what to do. It's either lightening not connecting to it or i2p since I notice other comments referring to the app stopping. Please fix...

No idea why others are commenting that they can't browse eepsites in their mobile devices and that certain features don't work...this app works wonderfully...of you can't get i2p set up correctly then you probably shouldn't be using it...j/s...anyways question to the developers..does this android version contain the new exit node stormycloud? Thanks again.

Yes, new installs will by default use exit.stormycloud.i2p. Old installs will not be switched over automatically, if you've got an older install then you'll need to switch manually in the I2PTunnel menu.
