Total Control 2.0 is URC’s flagship home automation and control system. This whole-home solution controls entertainment, music, lighting, temperature, security, surveillance and more.

Designed to control up to 32 zones, Total Control 2.0 integrates seamlessly with a wide variety of compatible third-party entertainment and smart home products. This includes many brands of TVs, cable boxes, streaming music players, interior and exterior lighting, thermostats, door locks, surveillance cameras, door stations, pool equipment, and much more. The system can also be programmed to utilize many other automation capabilities such as sleep timers, event scheduling, NFC actions, and the phone or tablet GPS capability to automatically trigger actions based on entering or exiting specific geographic areas set by the user in the app.
In addition to comprehensive control and integration possibilities, Total Control offers robust graphic (GUI) customization for connected mobile devices (such as smartphones or tablets) and URC user interfaces (such as touchscreens, remote controls, and keypads). An authorized URC dealer can customize and even personalize the onscreen graphics with room images, backgrounds and icons from the URC image library or with photos from a smartphone, tablet or digital camera.

Total Control 2.0 is professionally installed and programmed by a global network of URC systems integration professionals. It offers control for a variety of protocols including IR, IP, Serial, 12v triggers and relays. The system is network-reliant and communicates via hardline connection and Wi-Fi. A compatible URC Advanced Network System Controller that has been fully programmed for Total Control 2.0 is required for operation. This application is not compatible with systems that are programmed for the previous version of Total Control, also called Total Control 1.0.

Permissions currently required:
•Location- The app requires access all the time (in the background) in order to trigger custom-programmed events based on the device entering or exiting the selected location.
•Files and Media- The app requires file management in order to save custom configuration information loaded from the system controller such as unique images used for room backgrounds in the interface.

Ratings and reviews

Glitchy, expensive garbage. I can't believe how much money we wasted on this URC system. The app is terrible. It sometimes takes 5 minutes of trouble shooting to get music to play. We are so disappointed. Every once in a while there will appear to functionality updates, but they don't make it perform any better.

A recent update introduced a bug that sometimes causes the volume to go to the maximum level when you are in the app. It's so frustrating!

This app used to work fine with my Samsung Note 9 but has recently stopped. I now receive the Communication error - 'Unexpected response from base station'. I reinstalled several times but no change. There doesn't seem to be a way for me to fix this myself. I have not heard anything since comments in Nov 2021. It is now Jan 20, 2022. It works for Apple phones, do you still support Android? I would like to be able to use it again. Please advise.
