Welcome back to Twisted Tales, the app for children who want to feel confident, inspired, creative, and motivated to pursue their dreams. Through carefully thought-out reinterpretations of fairy tales, Twisted Tales empowers children to explore empathy, creativity, and self-expression! Each reinterpreted fairy tale addresses a different theme, such as physical or mental impairment, gender roles, and more, in a gentle and comprehensible way.
Twisted Tales Features:
Listen: 10-20 minute audio tales (available in several languages) delicately tackling important themes like physical disabilities, gender norms, toxic masculinity, Down syndrome, and more. Let your child’s imagination soar with reimagined stories—Cinderella with one leg, Aladdin as a fashion designer, and Hansel and Gretel befriending a kind Witch!
Toolkit for Conversations: A toolkit to trigger important conversations between parents and children. Foster empathy and emotional intelligence as you explore diverse perspectives together.
Create (NEW FEATURE!): Your child can now become a storyteller in our newly released feature. With the “Create” tool, they will craft their own Twisted Tales, adding unique twists and exploring their curiosity and creativity. Watch their imagination come to life!
For Ages 6-12 (and beyond): Twisted Tales is aimed at children aged 6 to 12, but speaks to children of all ages, encouraging them to embrace their uniqueness. Whether listened to alone or shared with parents, relatives, and caretakers, our app remains a catalyst for important conversations about the world around us.
Why Twisted Tales?
Teaching children empathy is not easy, but it is one of the most important skills and qualities to develop to help them navigate such a complex world. Our app, crafted in collaboration with psychologists and educators, continues to be a powerful tool for teaching kids to recognize, understand, and accept others' feelings and needs, while at the same time carrying powerful messages of empowerment and self-fulfillment, helping them develop self-esteem and persevere in the face of challenges.
