I used to think that, minus the occasional grammar mistakes, this app was ok; but after the last update, using the Star-Advertiser app has become more frustrating than it has been informative. Now ads pop up multiple times in a row! Not to mention an article will then redisplay the ads if you switch from portrait to landscape views and vise versa. I'm not against ads, and I understand why they're needed, but these ads are ruining the experience of just reading the articles

The updated app MAKES you view the ads, click to close audio, then click to close video. Option to do that doesn't appear for a long time after the ads start running. I'm a subscriber! I should not have to deal with these. Not gonna renew my subscription when it ends. The reporting isn't as good as it was a few years ago anyway.

This app has the most aggressive ads format I've ever experienced. It displays full page ads when you first open the app and frequently when viewing articles. Some video ads can't be closed and has to be viewed in its entirety. On top of that, the FULL PAGE AD has to be closed to continue reading the article. It's very annoying using this app. Being a subscriber makes no difference. It's not an enjoyable experience reading the news with this app. I guess that's why it's called Star-"ADVERTISER".
