▼ What is a nursery teacher?
Generally, a person who cares for a child in a child welfare facility such as a nursery school. It is one of the national qualifications of Japan.
Depending on the educational background, it is possible to obtain both national qualifications and educational staff licenses for nursery teachers and kindergarten teacher licenses (class 1 and class 2 licenses). ▼ About the test
It is conducted by a written test and a practical test, and only those who have passed all the subjects in the written test can take the practical test (Child Welfare Act Enforcement Regulations, Article 6-10, Paragraph 1).

● Exam subjects

-The nursery school exam has a passing system for each subject, and if you score 60% or more in each subject, you will pass. Once passed, the subjects are valid for 3 years until the year after next. For example, if 4 subjects have reached the passing score, a pass certificate will be issued for those 4 subjects, and only the remaining subjects need to be taken in the next nursery school exam. .. However, both educational principles and social care must be passed in the same year, and one pass cannot be carried over to the next year or later. Retakes are permitted even for subjects that have already passed, and if they pass, they will be valid for another three years from that year, and even if they fail, the previous pass will not be canceled and the expiration date will not be shortened.

● Eligibility to take the exam
Graduate from a university (graduate school, university, junior college, college of technology, or vocational school), complete a two-year childcare major at a high school, or enroll in a university for two years or more and earn 62 credits or more. Anyone who has mastered it can take the exam. It is possible to take the test even if it is expected, but in that case the test result will be tentative, and the test result will be invalid unless documents certifying graduation and credit acquisition are submitted at a later date. In addition, as mentioned above, even those who have graduated from high school as a transitional measure may be eligible to take the examination.
