Edit 2: I did download it to give the benefit of the doubt and instantly deleted it due to the ads. As well as the fact that it wants me to make a profile for something I personally don't believe needs one. I only want the app to cross reference items, I don't need another social media profile. Sometimes simple is better, hope that helps. (Based off of your response I will try it again soon and post the update then. Thanks.)

Agree about not needing more social media profiles! We are very careful with your data and will delete it in a heartbeat if you ask. Your comments are very helpful and we truly appreciate the input, so we'd love to have you try it and let us know if all our work has ended up with a product that works better for you!

I'm very impressed with this app! I was kind of sketchy of it at first, but after my boyfriend and I did some research on the company running the app, it turns out that they are doing amazing things to help out animals and I trust them. What I like most about this app is that it's easy to use and you don't have to research anything. You use a scanner to scan the barcodes of a product and the app will immediately tell you if the product you scanned is cruelty-free or not. You can use the scanner to scan a product in the store, or point the scanner at a barcode on a device when searching online. If a product is not cruelty-free, you have the option to "bite back" by sharing the result with social media. Unfortunately, that option doesn't work on my phone, but everything else does. Cruelty-Cutter is the reason why I stopped using Dove and some other common brands. They lie about being Cruelty-Free, and you have to watch for the fake cruelty-free signs. The app definitely helps with that. I've already switched to a few Cruelty-Free products, thanks to this app, and I'll continue to do my part to help save animals with their help. I recommend giving Cruelty-Cutter a try! You'll be surprised with the results!

I just downloaded this, was excoted to test it, and was stopped in my tracks by the need to register an account first. I don't need any more digital administrivia in my life, so will probably delete the app. Such a shame when something so simple is gunked up with unecessary complexity.
