I got to the airport (AUS)3 hours early, and the AA counter opened 2 hours before the flight. I was told that I had to use verifly in order to check in for my 5am flight to Punta Cana (PJU). I downloaded the app. and had issues using it. I got back to the counter and was told to scan a barcode they had, and I did. the app never worked properly, and I ended up missing the flight. this app sucks!!

I used this app for a flight in May 2022 and it worked fine. That's not to say good, it wasn't good; it was tough to use and user hostile, but once I got it sorted, it functioned to get me there. As of August 2022 it's basically nonfunctional. This app legitimately seems like an Andy Kaufman-esque joke that only the developers get. All functionality is gone and has been replaced with vague directions seemingly designed specifically to have to reread them over and over. Thanks a bunch.

Writing this 27 Jul 21. Boy does this app need work and I hope they fix these problems soon. I did FINALLY get it to work and check into my flight despite the unbelievably misleading and just plain wrong instructions. I am not surprised that so many people give up. Set up the profile, not TOO difficult but then Surprise, the country I was going to was not on the list of "Trips" you could take. But then I checked again night before I left and it was there. Now it has disappeared again, don't know why. Taping that icon did not initiate the process as you might think, just led to some worthless instructions. But I did flounder around and, after a while, find someplace to click that did start the process. Don't remember what I did. Did I say the instructions were worthless? Had to check three acknowledgment/consent boxes then enter a bunch of info and take a picture of my vaccination form. They actually approved it very fast. I got an email saying "click here and we'll take care of the rest". But that just took me to a screen saying "You got here by mistake, you have to scan the barcode in the email" but THERE WAS NO BARCODE in any email. Some places in the app said I was approved, other places in the app said I was NOT. I almost gave up but after floundering around even more I finally found TWO MORE acknowledgment/consent boxes I had to check. No hint about this in the instruction either, also no way to revisit those consents that I can see. But after I found this and consented two more times it worked and I was FINALLY able to check in to my AA flight on-line and print boarding passed using my computer and printer. The work flow in this app is like a bowl of spaghetti and the brainiac who wrote the instructions seems to have never actually used the app and had no clue how the process of using it worked. And BTW I never did actually scan any bar code.
