Stories of the Prophets are a different group of stories that were mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and are closely linked to the interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. Many books have been written throughout the Islamic eras dealing with stories of the prophets. Stories of the Prophets include the twenty-five prophets mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, starting with Adam. Ending with Muhammad, these stories include their lives before the prophethood, their call to their people, and the trials and tribulations they were exposed to.

The stories of the prophets and messengers are complete - that is
God Almighty sent prophets and messengers to human beings, whether they were peoples or nations, in order to guide them to Him, and to unite Him after Satan, may God’s curse be upon him, threatened to make the children of Adam polytheists to God Almighty, worship idols, or practice immorality.

Twenty-five prophets are mentioned in the Qur’an, including eighteen whom God mentioned in Surah Al-An’am and seven others who were mentioned separately in other than Surat Al-An’am, united by the poet’s saying:

“In this our argument is that eight of them are after ten, and seven remain, and they are... Idris Hud, Shuaib Salih, and likewise Dhu al-Kifl Adam, with Al-Mukhtar, have been sealed.” - May God’s prayers and peace be upon them all.

The names of the messengers and prophets mentioned in the Qur’an
God Almighty said in Surat Al-An’am: “And that is Our proof which We gave to Abraham against his people. We raise in ranks whom We will. Indeed, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing. (83) And We have bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob - each of them We guided, and Noah We guided before, and from his descendants are David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron. And thus do We reward the doers of good. (84) And Zechariah, and John, and Jesus, and Elias - each of the righteous (85) And Ishmael, and Elisha, and Jonah, and Lot. No, We favored them above the worlds (86) and of their fathers and their descendants and their brothers. And We chose them and guided them to a straight path. (87) That is the guidance of God. He guides thereby whomsoever He wills His servants. And if they had associated partners, what they used to do would have been nullified from them. (88) These are those to whom We have given the Book and judgment and prophecy. If he disbelieves in it. These are indeed We have entrusted to a people who are not disbelievers therein. (89) These are those whom God has guided. So follow his guidance. Say, “I do not ask you about it.” On the contrary, it is only him A reminder to the worlds (90) (Surat Al-An’am).

Adam was a prophet and not a messenger, then Noah, who was the first of God’s messengers to earth, and they disagreed about Seth and Idris, agreeing on the prophecy of Idris, but was he before or after Noah, and God knows that he was before him. Then Saleh and Hud were in two close times after Noah, and this is in terms of chronology.
