The Earthquake Network research project develops a smartphone-based earthquake early warning system able to detect earthquakes in real time and to alert the population in advance. Smartphones are able to detect earthquakes thanks to the accelerometer on-board each device. When an earthquake is detected, users with the application installed are immediatly alerted. Since earthquake waves travel at a finite speed (from 5 to 10 km/s) it is possible to alert the population not yet reached by the damaging waves of the earthquake. Note that the information on earthquakes detected by national and international seismic networks is usually published with a delay ranging from a few minutes to many hours, depending on the seismic network.

Well I noticed that the TSUNAMI ALERT TAB appears to be missing. That let's me down because I know it is important. I use it all the time. It has many different features. Has voice alert for Seismic Station Data plus maps and even waves. Sometimes it will not be real time. It helps to get the settings correct. Had User reports felt events buttons. Has real time voice for User reports and more . EDIT :It's 2020 and use this app everyday. Still the best.

I paid for the top 10k and PRO in the other regular free version but it doesn't appear in this app. Is there something I need to do? Do I need to pay for subscription again? The subscription I paid for said that it was to cover the Top 10k alerts and PRO version but it's not showing up. I just paid to buy the PRO app. Please help. Thanks.

It used to be my favorite app... but it was completely destroyed by the last update! For some mysterious reason they removed the filters that combine the displayed earthquakes! It was possible to COMBINE the filter, eg - all earthquakes in the world greater than 7, AND local earthquakes greater than 2. Uninstalled.
