About this game

New expansion campaigns have been released! The Russian Civil War and Invasion campaigns are purchasable within the game.

Pixel Soldiers: The Great War is a simple to play, but difficult to master turn based strategy game set during the First World War. You will choose to command the armies of either the Entente (France, Britain and Russia) or the Central Powers (Germany, Austria and the Ottoman Empire).

You will fight from 1914 to 1918 on the Western Front and Eastern Front. You will land on the beaches at Gallipoli, desperately hold or seize the important city of Verdun and try to achieve a breakthrough on the Somme.

This game is the fourth entry in the Pixel Soldiers series. Previous games: Pixel Soldiers: Waterloo, Pixel Soldiers: Bull Run and Pixel Soldiers: Gettysburg.

It's the best mobile turn-based strategy I've played in quite a while! Aesthetically, many of the maps are far too green. If possible, it would be nice if the land tiles were less verdant, or degraded with conflict or bombardment. It would also be good if trees could be reduced by artillery, as was a common sight on WWI battlefields.

A great turn-based strategy game of World War I (WWI) battles. There is no resources collection/management. The campaign mode involves a series of battles. Each battle has a unique, fairly big map, with varied terrain, and terrain effects (e.g., city squares improve defense but cost more movement). Units left undisturbed on open/plain squares will 'dig-in', improving defense. Each battle starts with a brief explanation of where it fits within the history of WWI. Battles have different victory objectives, so it's not just wipe out the enemy. There are a lot of unit types, each with varied capabilities. If units take enough damage they become disorganized and/or run away. Disorganized units combat effectiveness is reduced, but can be restored if the unit is undisturbed for one turn. You can play either Allies or Central Powers, effectively doubling replay-ability. Suggestions: If you check attack options after moving a unit, you can't undo the move; Please allow the player to check attack options and undo move. The icons for Russian normal and veteran infantry are visually identical; Please update the icons to be visually distinct (there may be other cases like this).

I love this game! I've been searching for something just like it. It's simple and straightforward yet with so much nuance within the gameplay. Can't wait for the WW2 version! . That's gonna be great. Online multiplayer is also gonna be fantastic, even though it might get me and my brother fired for never doing any work at our jobs. I only have a few issues / bugs I see with this game. If you quit out of the game (on tablet) mid turn, it resets your BP points. It always feels like cheating to use them. Also can you put in a 'are you sure' button when you click end turn, if not all your men have moved? I have clicked end turn accidentally a few times when I actually want to just quit for the night, not end my turn. Of course it means I miss a whole turn. Best game purchase ever from Google Play.
