About this app

Sandes is an open source based indigenous instant messaging platform developed by NIC, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India to facilitate instant messaging communication in Government organisations. It is hosted exclusively at Government infrastructure. It supports end to end encrypted messaging and encrypted backup and encrypted OTP service. Its privacy and data policy is governed by rules and regulations of the Government of India. Sandes can be integrated with other Government communications systems for sending encrypted messages without any cost. Currently Sandes is integrated with NIC email, DigiLocker and e-office.
At present, full features of Sandes app are available only to the Government verified users. Employees of Government organisation need to contact the Nodal officer of their Ministry/ Department for verification. For information about Nodal officers write to us at support-sandes[at]nic[dot]in

I am not getting my contacts even after syncing with the app. If I get the contact I can give invite. Earlier there was a messaging app called hike by reliance. In it,if someone joins hike all the contacts will get notification saying 'Kalyani joined hike'. This would have been better. Edit:- I got my contacts,but I am getting "You do not have permission to send messages to this chat" with all my contacts.What should I do to rectify it? How can we use the app if you cannot send messages via it

The government app does not mean that other data related to the citizen will also be collected Legal action should be taken against this app Because this is an attack on the entire server of the device OTP of the message is also available through phone number or email id which is official then what is the need to collect citizen's data? This is an attack on the privacy of citizens No app ever asks for all permissions Even apps connected to banks never ask for all permissions

Improper working, Due to Late coming of notification having not good experience with this app. Need more improvement.
