Acute poisonings are a frequent cause of hospital visits, telephone calls to poison control centers or consultations via Internet calls. "Itox poisoning emergency" is the application of emergency for acute poisoning in adults and most comprehensive and extensive published to date child. The authors led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Dueñas-Laita (Hospital Universitario Río Hortega, University of Valladolid, Spain), included more than 2,500 toxic substances (drugs, toxic industrial and agricultural, poisonous animals, drugs of abuse, chemical weapons , household products, plants and many others), appearing its name in Spanish and English. It is organized in about 100 GROUPS OF TOXIC, it has comprehensive information on 50 antidotes, 2 books in PDF and execution of the techniques used in toxicological emergencies (including multiple figures and 15 videos).
"Itox" is designed to provide clinical information on the toxicological poison control centers, hospitals, doctors, pharmacists, toxicologists, nurses, medical technicians, civil protection, paramedics, other lawyers, health authorities and university students emergencies. It is available in formats for mobile devices, and soon in web publishing and as a book.
Information about TOXIC includes a docketed format,: definition, etiology, mechanism of action, risk factors, symptoms and signs, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, laboratory tests, imaging techniques, complications, treatment, monitoring and follow-up and 300 WEBS OF INTEREST and multiple PDF in Spanish and English.
It also provides comprehensive information on antidotes used in the emergency department for acute or chronic poisoning, comprising: name (synonyms, commercial preparations in Spain, Europe, Latin America and USA), pharmacology, indications, contraindications, adverse reactions, precautions and interactions, dosage and minimum stock for the first 24 hours in hospitals or medicalized ambulance.
The application allows further disclosed the execution of the techniques used in toxicological emergency, including information on: name, concept, indications, contraindications, technical procedure and figures or videos.
itox includes access to the websites of 60 national and international institutions of interest to the field of toxicology, advanced internal search system and Gallery. This app is periodically updated by adding new content, reviewing existing information or incorporating the possible needs that users express us through the web www.intoxicacionesonline.com or the assessment of the app that can be performed in the App Store.
