Frustrating. Requires location to be on all the time, with attendant battery drain. Gallery view only works when phone is unplugged from Android Auto. Gallery is supposed to show Google Maps location for clips, but nothing but gray shown. Does location function require phone to be unplugged from Android Auto? If so, then pretty pointless. Device firmware update function is nice, though. 2024.04.28 edit: used support contact form provided per mfr response. But always-on location is a hard pass.

S22 ultra phone, the app won't connect with the camera it keeps saying it loses connection with th3 device and the device doesn't have an option to show its connected with the phone or to even show that it is connecting with a phone this need to be fixed asap I can't download the videos of an accident. Edit: I exchanged it for a new one. It had firmware 1.20 out the box. It connected no issues. The new firmware 1.23 is the issue. Yall need new software techs.

To get the app to work on Android Auto you have to unlock your phone and open the app. On Android Auto the Drive Smarter app just says 'See update' which it's just prompting you to open the app from the phone while driving. Then it says 'Loading' in top right of screen while the circle of death spins with 'Waiting for the mobile app...'. It sometimes gives option to 'Exit' or 'Wait' but neither one fixes it. Please fix Android Auto app launch issues.
