About this app

The application of the guiding creed of Ibn Asaker is an application that displays the entire text of the creed of Ibn al-Asaker or called the guiding creed.

The guiding creed is a brief treatise that does not exceed two pages in the science of monotheism and the principles of religion, authored by Imam Al-Mahdi Muhammad bin Tumart Al-Zahiri Al-Ash’ari, a disciple of Al-Ghazali, and the founder of the Almohad state in Morocco.

In this treatise, the creed of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah is mentioned in brief and comprehensive, explaining the Ash`ari and Maturidi creed. Imam Fakhr al-Din bin Asaker was interested in its teaching, and the Hafiz Salah al-Din al-Ala’i praised it and called it (the guiding creed) and said: “This guiding creed was said on the right curriculum and the straight contract, and it was correct in what the Almighty God exalted.” This was transmitted by Imam Taj al-Din al-Subki in The great Shafi’i classes and he agreed with him in calling it the guiding creed and its entirety, and he said at the end of it the text: “This is the last creed, and there is nothing in it that my Sunnis deny.” And upon this creed, Sheikh Abdullah al-Harari, known as al-Habashi, walked in all his writings on creed.

The author of this doctrine is Ibn Tumart, an Islamic preacher who lived in the Far Maghreb between the end of the eleventh century AD and the twelfth century. He is considered the founder of the Almohad dynasty. Historians differed about his full name, according to Ibn Khaldun, as Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Jalid bin Yamsal bin Hamza bin Isa, while other historians (Ibn Rashiq and Ibn al-Qattan) believe that he is Muhammad bin Tumart bin Tataween bin Safla bin Masifoun bin Ikdis bin Khalid.
