About this app

This is the companion app for the families and staff using the Tapestry online learning journal in their school, nursery, or at their childminders.

You must be able to log into a Tapestry account in order to use this app.

The app is a pared-down version of the browser. You can use it to:

Create, view, edit, and comment on observations
View and comment on Memos and Activities
Log into your account quickly using a PIN or biometrics
Access and add to your child/children’s learning journal/s whilst offline
If you are a staff member, create and view Care Diary entries

Privacy & Data Protection:

The school/nursery/childminder that purchased the Tapestry
account is in charge of the data that is added to and stored in Tapestry; what
is added, how long it is kept for, and who can see it.

We at Tapestry only use the data you enter to
provide, fix and improve the service. We don’t use the data for marketing; we
don’t share the data with others to do marketing.

Ratings and reviews

Good app, reasonably easy to use. However, I give this 3* only as translation of foreign language posts is impossible without switching to desktop as both screenshots and copy-past functions are disabled. Please allow both/either function, or, add a translation feature within. If added, i think this would truly be a stellar app! Thank you!

The App regularly fails to upload photos/videos, but it doesn't give an error message (you have to log in via a browser to find out why your media is not visible). The App is unable to upload media that's stored anywhere other than my phone's top level camera folder - anything in Google drive, SD card, subfolders in phone gallery, gives a "media not found "message after it's selected. The app allows you to select multiple media files, but is not capable of adding more than one at a time.

It's not brilliant, but it is a new app. I can't upload videos or photos from the app - so you end up with journal entries with no supporting information with them, that you can't delete. I'm now doing everything from the web page instead which defeats the purpose of an app really. Even web based, parents can't delete their own entries, so if the photo/video hasn't uploaded, or, you spot a typo you have to ask the teacher the sort it. In principle its a good app but there are areas to improve.
