Lockwatch secretly takes a photo using the front camera when someone enters an incorrect unlock code on your phone. It then emails you a picture of the intruder along with their GPS location, without them knowing.

The app has helped recover many lost and stolen phones, and has been featured in several TV and online news stories.

Lockwatch uses Android's built-in lock screen and has a small app size, running only when an incorrect unlock code is entered.

Note: You must enter at least four digits or dots for each unlock attempt to be counted. If the correct code is entered within 10 seconds, Lockwatch will not send the email to avoid false alarms.

The app offers additional features, such as the ability to attach multiple photos and audio clips to the email, email notifications when a new SIM card is inserted or when the phone is turned on.

I installed this, set up the email, set permissions, etc, then tested it to see if it would send an email of me trying to incorrectly unlock my phone. It didn't. But I thought maybe it needed some time to send the email. I tried a few more times, then went to bed. In the morning there were still no emails. I checked my spam folder and everything. Nothing. This app was completely useless to me.

I have used this app off and on for years, it used to be flawless. Now, and for quite awhile, when I receive the email telling me someone tried to unlock my phone, it says "unfortunately, a photo couldn't be captured at this time." I've checked to make sure that this is app has all my permissions. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, when I do this, it will work properly the very first time. And then fail to take a photo again, every time after. I WANT TO SEE THE PHOTO!

Ive used Lockwatch - premium version for a long time now. Its easy to use use and does everything right. Ive caught many people trying to break into my phone. Emails you a Lockwatch report. I love showing them there Lockwatch mugshot pictures, seeing their reaction and listening to their excuses is awesome. Report also shows their breakin location and current tracking info, sound clip, cannot be uninstalled by the badguy. You can also lock the phone and wipe the data if stolen.
