About this app

Buxus provides critical information from pipeline operators to stakeholders, including emergency responders and the public. Information is specific to each operator and includes emergency contact information, products transported, hazard identification, and response guidance. Users can also request specific information from operators in their communities and provide or report other information critical to operators.

Buxus allows operators to establish a liaison with emergency officials electronically, in a manner that best serves all parties’ interests by improving the efficiency of the emergency preparedness process.

Operators can communicate key information to emergency officials including:

Leak Recognition and Response;
Potential Hazards;
Material Safety Data Sheets;
Emergency Response Plans;
Unified Command System Roles;
Asset Maps and Relevant Operational Specifications;
Emergency Contact Information;
Personnel and Assets Available from Operator in an Emergency;
General Leak Prevention Measures Undertaken; and
Integrity Management Programs for Assets in High-Consequence Areas.

Emergency officials can communicate information about the department’s readiness posture to operators, including:

Meeting/Training Requests;
Mutual Aid Agreements;
Relevant Experience, Assets, and Personnel Training; and
Leak Response Plan/Standard Operating Procedures for Pipeline Incidents.

Buxus allows information to be exchanged securely and is organized so that it is quickly and easily accessible when needed and, once downloaded to Buxus, available even when there is no wireless connectivity. When a wireless connection is available, Buxus ensures that updated information is immediately accessible to users. Mapping functionality provides emergency officials with real-time visualization of an operator’s assets near their GPS-determined location, or relative to a specific address.

Looks like a great app, unfortunately when trying to register, the popups to fill in the locations, role, etc inmediately collapses. Try again. UPDATE - So, after my first attempt failed, a new phone later and 2nd attempt went well, even receievd a call from a representative (Thanks Again Lindsay!). App looks good and I look forward to watching the additional data get added.

Registration function is broken. Cannot get past putting my name and email in. The next screen opens and closes menu options in half a second so I am unable to make selections.

Unable to select my county during registration so unable to complete registration. Drop-down menu shows "No Data".
