About this app

The application for the use of the Service Emergency Call 911 on Android mobile devices, is a project that the Government of Mexico City, through the Command Center, Control, Computer, Communications and Citizen Contact City of Mexico, developed, implemented and operates, in order to make available to the population in Mexico City, a technological tool that facilitates requesting assistance to local authorities in the event of an emergency.

On my phone, this app alerted more than 2 minutes late for the 19 September 2018 earthquake simulation. This used to be the most reliable app for earthquake alerts, but it now performs no better (and sometimes worse) than other apps. It was the only app that worked correctly on my phone for the 19 February 2018 earthquake, but it was too late on 19 July 2018. Given how this technology works and that there have been more than a million downloads, I suspect this app is a victim of its own success and now has too many users to be able to alert them all in a timely way. CDMX/C5 should invest in cell broadcast technology, because there are too many people in Mexico City to alert all of their phones in any other way. Apps cannot alert everyone simultaneously, and it takes too long to reach every device on the list sequentially. With this app, the millionth user in CDMX will always be alerted much later than the first user. With cell broadcast technology, everyone would be alerted instantly and at the same time.

Actualización 22 Feb 23, ahora ya ni si quiera abre la app, pésimo para emergencias Actualización: Alerta para el 19/9/19,sigue sin sonar... El chat para emergencias tampoco funciona... Patético... Tanta notificación para el simulacro del 19/9/18 para que no sonará la aplicación ni en mi celular ni en la de mis conocidos con esta app instalada. Muy mal, esencial arreglar esto
