That’s why Faithtree Resources has created The Encounter. The Encounter invites Christians into a daily habit of prayer- our app teaches us how to pray since worship is both an art and a skill. Many of us don’t know where to start, so we created The Encounter to help.

This project was born from the inspirational prayer fellowship of The Common Prayer Discipline of St. Philip the Evangelist. The Encounter helps to facilitate morning, noonday, and evening prayers so that they become a regular part of our daily lives.

As a protestant who is looking into Orthodoxy, this prayer manual has been very beneficial to me. I have learned a lot about the Orthodox way of prayer, and many of the prayers of the saints. Because of this app I have started praying on my own the Orthodox morning prayers, sometimes using the app and sometimes using a physical book. One suggestion is to make it possible to copy the text from the app to my phone's clipboard so I can paste it into other notes apps or documents.

So far I like the app however I find it strange I've been unable to locate contact information within the app and whenever I tap on edit profile the action it performs is to minimize the app. Also the podcast that is offered in the app seems to be defunct and the Instagram and Facebook accounts for that podcast have not seen any activity from the owners in a very long time.

Well designed app that had what I was looking for - the Orthodox scripture readings for the day for the New Calendar (harder to find in an app than I expected!). The app is uncluttered and easy to use. What needs to be added is mostly in the app store - something in the name identifying this as Orthodox. I never would have found this if a friend of mine didn't already have it/would have scrolled right past it in a search. Mention the prayers being Orthodox earlier in the app description!
