BalusterPro makes the chore of calculating spacing of handrail balusters a quick and elementary task. It can also be used for any job requiring equal spacing between boards or slats. Use for picket fences, bench/chair backs,decking or column flutes.

To use, enter the run length and baluster width and then slide the 'Balusters Needed' slider until 'Spacing Between Balusters' reaches a desired value (such as meeting code requirements). The number of balusters needed is displayed above the slider.

Incredible app and a 'must have' for carpenters. Very important note for some Andriods! : you must go to the 'recent apps' menu (often bottom left corner button), find this app, and long press it to bring up the preference menu where you can change many of the parameters (like max rail run etc), it did not automatically present itself on my phone automatically just by opening the app as usual.

I like the app. It is easy and useful. I must be unconventional in the fact that I want to lock the space between the balusters to a set dimension and then have equal end spacing between posts or columns. I don't want different baluster spacing in different runs of rails. I wish this app would give you a "start" dimension, and then your desired "common" dimmensions", and at the end you would be left with the same space as at the start.

As a long time carpenter I can say this app is one of the most important tools I have when it comes to building railings, and comes in handy for other times you want something equally spaced out. On Android when wanting text to speech you just have to long press column header. Kudos to the devs!
