To calculate the number of seeds to be distributed, it is necessary to know the germination of the seed lot. This information is provided by the company where the seeds were purchased, however this value (% germination) may be greater than the value of seed emergence in the field. Therefore it is recommended that test one field emergence. Therefore, from a representative sample, four separate sub-samples of 100 seeds each.
