The Harry Potter: Magic Caster Wand app lets fans explore over 50 spells in the Harry Potter canon – essential reading for any student of Hogwarts.

Fans who connect the app with their Harry Potter: Magic Caster WandTM (purchased separately) will unlock the full experience and bring spells to life in an all-new way. Featuring multi-coloured lights, sounds and haptics, the wand and wandbox react with LED lights and audio as you cast motion-activated spells.

Wand owners can earn experience points within the app as they complete specific tasks, such as mastering the wand motions from the app spell book. Level up and unlock over 50 spells for hours of interactive adventure. Challenge friends to a wizards' duel if they have Magic Caster Wands too.

The app also enables fans to interact with Bluetooth-enabled speakers, smart home light bulbs, TVs, and other connected devices to create an immersive multi-sensory experience.

Fans can register for a free account within the app - then personalise their experience by selecting their Hogwarts house and Patronus.

As a Fan, I LOVE IT! As a consumer... i just got this as an early Christmas present and I love it so much! However, both my husband and I think there's got to be more universal compatibility with connecting apps and devices. Why are Samsung and Roku not connectable options? Also, the sensor is a tad wonky, calibration would help that. Also, shouldn't be forced to run it ONLY with the app open, the permissions are there for a reason. Its beautiful, as a fan still would recommend!

No way can you justify spending $150 on what appears to be brittle plastic to only support up to 3 lights at a time. Like that's super unreasonable. I should be able to control at least an area, but 3 lights? So I can turn off half of my lights? Pointless limitations is a pass from me. Use higher quality materials, focus on the functionality and you'll have a successful product. There is no reason for a $150 functional wand to be worse quality than a $30 wand. I want it, but not that bad.

I enjoy this app. Learning spells is fun because you see how to pronounce and cast them, what it does, and even a reference to when it was used. I also appreciate the integration of our house and Patronus. However, I feel the amount of compatible smart devices is lacking. I'm also not a big fan of the dueling. The idea is excellent, but it's a little clunky; it's hard to tell if it picked up on your cast, if the cast successfully went through, and takes a while to load each sequence.
