"Places Been" is a travel tracker app that allows you to conveniently search and mark those places. Visited places are beautifully displayed with their corresponding country flag on a map.

The app automatically generates a list of all visited countries and states/provinces/regions based on the cities you tagged. It also helps you to keep track of your personal Bucket List - all places that you are still planning to visit and your fav places in the world.
As a bonus you can create your personal Flag Map based on the countries that you visited - similar to a scratchmap!

Ratings and reviews

The app is improving, and I am glad it continues to receive updates! My biggest request is for an updated, higher resolution Flag Map. Some countries are too small to be seen, even when zoomed in all the way. The black border lines are too thick, preventing easy distinguishing of locales. Also, if the ocean was blue instead of white, that would help with countries that have white flags (Japan, South Korea, etc) Also, an update tracker to see changes over time (bug fixes, additions, etc)

The app works well. I like that this app has national parks and sites. One thing I'd like to see added is a viewing layer by country/territory. It's only by city and that's nice but can be too into the weeds if you just wanna add a country to you wish list. Also, the price prevents me from recommending it. There are cheaper and free options out there. Main thing here is National Parks, sites and airports. And those options do include section by country.

This works okay, but it won't always find your location, even if you zoom right in on it. I found myself missing more places than I liked so had to find another app. I first thought it was weak cell signal that was causing my issues, but I had troubles when I had strong signal as well, including some national monument areas that should have been easy to tag. Other apps grabbed those locations with no problem. An okay app, but not for my needs.
