The app is pretty good but when I'm listening to music in my car and I drive through a dead cell signal zone, as is frequent in Vermont, when I emerge from it the app is still spinning its wheel and does not recover. I do NOT have this problem with several other public radio apps, which recover smartly when the signal returns. Another issue, which may be the station or may be the app, is that, unlike other apps, it doesn't show what music I'm listening to. I have to look it up in the playlist.

The programming is good, but I have difficulty when I'm connected to Wi-Fi, leave the Wi-Fi area and reconnect to cellular and visa versa. Every time this occurs, I lose the signal and then when the signal resumes I have an ad for 30 seconds or so. This makes the app unusable outside as I have both a weak Wi-Fi signal and a marginal cellular signal. This could be fixed if the app only played ads on the initial connection to the device and not on reconnections. BTW I'm a sustaining member.

I love VPR, but this is a terrible app. It's unresponsive, so you don't know whether it's registered a touch and everything takes forever, so you end up tapping again and pausing it because you didn't know it was playing. It does not keep your place in on-demand shows, and I have not figured out how to make it continue playing after my phone turns off, whatever it is, it's not a permission I can find. So it's constantly loses your place, and you have to start over.
