To other users, I found this out the hard way: Confirm that the backup file is actually complete upon saving. (Internal Storage>"PrivateDiaryBackup.zip") Sometimes, it doesn't finish saving. Save was successful if you open the .zip file and a bunch of little folders load. If it didn't save then, when you try to open it, it won't load and you'll get an error message. Make sure, every time you backup, then back-up the back-up on an SD card or separate device.

I have used this app for years, but when I recently tried to get in on my android app, It does not work, getting messages that says the app keeps crashing. I can still get in on the website, but I have lost at least the last 2 years of entries, which is very sad. Am copying what I can before the website no longer works. Have emailed the developer but No response. They are in Russia, so not expecting much.

App was no longer working on Samsung device since latest Android system update. Had to uninstall and reinstall it. All my past entries were initially missing but fortunately I was able to restore them by syncing my account from another device with the app. It's a good diary app but no longer seems supported, as it hasn't been updated for a few years.
