The Baz 2.0 application of the Yehoraz Israel Bird Observatory's National Database of Israel Bird Observers is upgrading Birding in Israel to a new level.
Baz 2.0 enables reporting of birds in Israel from the field directly to the reservoir. The app automatically collects the exact location from which each bird was reported, and creates a map of the bird's route in the reported observation.
In addition it allows Baz 2.0 to receive real-time alerts on rare birds (RBA). During the reporting of a rare bird, the app asks the bird to indicate the exact location of the bird and to send a warning about the rare bird to the other birds that use the app. Anyone who has installed Baz 2.0 will receive a push alert for rare birds reported to the reservoir.
