Abu Nawas is known as a Sufi. Who came from Persia was born in 750 AD in the city of Ahvad and died in 819 AD in the land of Baghdad. When he grew up he wandered to Bashra and Kufa. Abu Nawas is an Arabic poet and as one of the greatest classical poets of Arabic literature. One that is believed to be a very well-known poem that we often listen to is: "Ilaahii lastu lil firdausi ahlaan wa laa aqwaa 'alaa naaril jahiimi ..... etc." Meaning: "Oh my God! I'm not an expert in heaven, but I'm not strong enough to go to hell of a devil ... etc. ”

According to the story, the above verse is an expression of repentance to Allah SWT, because when he was young, many said that Abu Nawas spent a lot of time having fun with worldly life and doing many things that were out of his mind with his funny behavior. When moving to Baghdad, Abu Nawas was known to be close to the caliph Harun Al Rashid, so that there were many humorous stories of Abu Nawas relating to King Harun Al Rashid.

The original stories of Abu Nawas come from a fairy tale book Alfu Lailatin Wa Lillah (The Story of a Thousand and One Nights). From the original story, new stories were born with different stories, both in writing and those that have been told orally. It was also possible for many other stories to be adopted or turned into the stories of Abu Nawas. However, in compiling this e-book, we try not to present the stories of Abu Nawas carelessly.
