Smart Switch now lets users transfer and move data from Android to iPhone and vice versa. It is perfect for people who have upgraded to a handset using a different operating system. The procedure to send and receive remains identical for the most part. However, as always both devices must have the respective version of Smart Switch installed on them.

How to use:

1. After installation, the user must give the Smart Switch app all permissions it requires.
2. As a sender, simply select the files you wish to transfer and hit "Share".
3. The app will create a personal hotspot, and a QR code will be shown on the screen.
4. To start the transfer by creating a connection, the receiver must scan the QR code.
5. The user can find all his transferred files inside the transfer history page.

The app works great, IF you're paying attention and can follow instructions... I tried, unsuccessfully 3X, to transfer data from my old phone to my new phone. When it wouldn't work, I got frustrated and moved the phone to the left side of my desk, which is where the phone that I was trying to transfer data from was located. The minute it was directly next to that phone, the data started transferring...! Yes... the app works flawlessly. Make sure to install the app on both phones.

Very bad news. As others have noted, demands complete and total access to EVERYTHING, then traps you in repeated prompts for the same things. Interspersed with the demands are intrusive ads for other apps that have nothing to do with the task at hand. If you reach this app through the mobile version of PlayStore, it is dressed to look as though it is the Samsung Smart Switch: it isn't. Avoid this pos like the plague; I'm amazed Google allows it in their store.

Files more than 4.2GB cannot be transferred at once, you need to do multiple transfers. Existing files are not overwritten, instead multiple copies are made. The app suddenly stops without informing the user that it has stopped if it encounters the above threshold and you have to cancel the process and start over, causing multiple copies or you need to audit which files have already been copies, making it a tedious iterative process. For smaller files below 4.2GB, it works very well though.
