WHITEWATER AR
A virtual journey through time to the abandoned mining settlement of Weisswasser!
The application wants to make it possible to experience the Weißwasser mining settlement in the Reichraminger Hintergebirge (Kalkalpen National Park), which was mined in the 1960s and is now historically significant.
Guests of the "Mining and Local History Museum - Knappenhaus Unterlaussa" and cyclists (the Hintergebirgsradweg leads directly past the former settlement) often inquire about the former Weißwasser settlement, where it was located and what it looked like there and whether buildings are still visible today.
In the village of Weißwasser, it was primarily the miners with their families and forest workers who lived in the past. The settlement was infrastructural full
open minded. There was a department store as well as an inn, a fire brigade, at times a school and various workshops and sawmills. After a site visit, those interested are disappointed that only very few clues and remains of the settlement can be found. The employees of the "Miner's House Unterlaussa" are asked again and again that information should be given to visitors (hikers, cyclists, people interested in mining) on site by means of display boards, brochures and plans.
Weisswasser AR should use these new opportunities and offer effective opportunities to deal with the topic of the abandoned mining settlement in Weisswasser.
Warning: Weisswasser AR requires special hardware to work properly, including: motion sensors and a powerful processor. You can find a list of supported devices here: https://developers.google.com/ar/devices?hl=de
