Line Follower Robot is a type of robot that is included in the category of mobile robots that are designed to work automatically and this robot has the ability to be able to detect lines (generally black & white) and move to follow (follows) the lines in the arena.

The robot control system used is designed to be able to move on the existing line and maneuver the motion according to the sensor condition so that it can still follow the line. This type of robot is pretty much in demand for those who are just learning robot technology. Even Line Follower Robot competitions are routinely held at various universities in Indonesia. In the field of industry, this type of robot is often used to move goods from one place to another.

Line Follower robots are divided into two types, namely:
Analog Line Follower Robot
Microcontroller Line Programming Robot (Programming)

Analog Line Robot Follower usually uses Transistor components and Op Amp ICs as the main components and motor driver ICs, but there are also those that use relays as the control of the dc motor. Analog Line Follower Robot there are usually a number of setting buttons that have certain functions, for example the choice of path colors, read the right / left lines, also the turbo button for more speed. Analog Line Follower Robot when viewed from the movement when it detects the line of the robot, it still seems rough when following the line because the system works still using the On / Off system. Microcontroller Line Follower robots are programmed with a PID system so that the robot's net is smoother and the sensor settings can automatically detect black or white lines, besides that the Microcontroller Robot Line Follower can be programmed according to the arena with different lines.
