Latin "Carnivora": meaning "meat-eaters." But actually, the carnivorous diet is not the essential diet for all members of the team. The order of predators is divided into two suborders: canines and felines. According to the old classifications, terrestrial- and aquatic predators were put into two separate teams. These two orders are combined in today's science, and marine predators are included in the canine suborder of carnivores.
