About 'Hanuman Chalisa': -

Hanuman Chalisa was written by great poet Tulisdas as part of epic Ramcharitra Manas. It is sacred hymen (sotra) devoted to strength, wisdom, devotion and greatness of Shri Hanuman Ji. It's consist of 40 verses (hence Chalisa) excluding the couplets at beginning and end.


Hanuman Chalisa is one of the most revered and recited hymen of Hindu religion. It's also extremely popular among non-Hindus. It's mainly recited in morning on Tuesday and Saturday (day of Hanuman Ji) but many people also recite it daily.


Hanumanji, also known as Bajranbali, Kesari Nandan, Anjaneya, Pawan Putra and Sankat Mochan was avataar of Lord Shiva and a devotee of Lord Shri Ram. Hanumanji helped Shri Ram defeat demon King Ravana and free Mata Sita.
